Assessor's Office

Assessor's Office is Responsible for:  Establishment of assessments which are used in the computation of taxes for all properties in the Town.  Assists taxpayers with applications for partial tax exemptions for Veterans and low-income Seniors and determines eligibility.  Administers Clergy and STAR exemptions and processes renewals for WHOLLY Exempt Properties.  Maintains records of current owners of property, assessments, lot sizes, school district, etc.

 

Dates to Remember

  • March 1st - Taxable Status Day
    • Exemption filing deadline and status of completion or condition of real property
  • May 1st - Tentative Assessment Roll filed annually
  • 4th Wednesday in May - Grievance Day (If the 4th Wednesday of May shall occur before the 4th Tuesday of May then it shall be the 5th Wednesday in May)
  • July 1st - Final Roll filed annually and Valuation Date
