Sump Pump Notice

Sump Pumps connected to Town of Duanesburg Municipal Sewer System are prohibited without exception.

The average discharge of water into the system is 42 to 53 gallons a minute for each sump pump. The Treatment Plant averages 40,000 gallons during the dry weather. During storm events we exceed our limit of 100,000 gallons. This is a direct cause of illegal sump pump connection and residential cleanout covers broken. The Town tries to monitor and correct these violations. If the Town gets fined for exceeding our limit you, the users, will have to pay more.

Please disconnect any illegal Sump Pumps and check to ensure your line to the street is intact. If you are unsure, please contact Andrew Dennis, (518) 898-8058, in the Sewer Department for assistance.

The Town of Duanesburg Sewer Use Law states a violation shall be punishable by a fine of not less than $1000.00 for each offense.
