"A memorable day at the opening of the Town of Duanesburg's new nature trail that hooks up to Schenectady County's trail on Lake Road.... Boy Scouts from Troop 501, 50 and 105 worked together to create this trail.... An Eagle Scout project for Scout Aliberti resulted in 'bridges' across some wet areas and a new sign at the beginning of the Duanesburg trail..... An awesome job by a group of hardworking, industrious men and scouts.... August 20, 2011.....Also, a special thanks to Peter Watrous and the Duanesburg Park Commission......"

From Eyesore to Memorial!
Schenectady County transferred the Marks property at the Route 20 and Route 7 intersection in May.
The county also presented the Town of Duanesburg with money that will go a long way towards the creation of the Veterans Memorial planned for that space.

Spring Season Clean Up 2006 for Frontier Sno-Riders ADOPT-A-HIGHWAY

The Frontier Sno-Riders Snowmobile Club was established in 1998 by a group of snowmobile enthusiasts in Duanesburg in alliance with another group from East Berne & Knox creating a civically inspired organization whose trails and ecological responsibilities cross over four (4) counties; noted as having the most counties for one club in New York State. Our primary mission is to promote the recreational and beneficial aspects of safe, responsible and proper snowmobiling within and around our community, while providing volunteers banding together with many private Landowners to address the preservation and maintenance of our natural environment, year round. Several times a year the Frontier Sno-Riders provides Certified Snowmobile Safety Courses sponsored by the New York State Dept of Parks and Recreation. As another part of our civic concern and involvement, we have undertaken the responsibility of cleaning a 2-mile stretch of Rt. 7 in Duanesburg in the Spring and Fall months each year. The Frontier Sno-Riders also participates in the Schenectady Christmas & Holiday Parade and the Toys for Tots campaign. Additionally, the Club has sponsored fund raising campaigns for Children's Foundations & Benefits as well as Local worthy causes. We make ourselves available for any requests by the Authorities to immediately respond to Winter Emergencies. The Frontier Sno-Riders are sanctioned members of the New York State Snowmobile Association and is a non-profit organization. Those wishing to join Frontier Sno Riders may do so by visiting our website at www.frontiersno.com.
